Hyatt Zilara Cancun: Dining Without a Wallet

Where to eat plays a big role in any vacation: indulging ourselves in fine dining and experiencing local cuisines is always part of the itinerary. How much more on your honeymoon - you feel that you can finally eat after months of dieting for the wedding!

We definitely rewarded ourselves while on our honeymoon and staying at an all-inclusive resort means we didn't have to carry our wallets all the time when eating out! Looking at a menu with no prices made ordering so easy, we can order everything we wanted. Hyatt Zilara Cancun boasts its 7 premium restaurants and we gladly went to them all!

Spice. Spice is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the menu being changed daily. This was the first restaurant we visited for a quick bite when we arrived. Their buffet selections range from pastas to meats to fresh fish to desserts and fruits.

Asiana. An Asian cuisine restaurant with a teppanyaki cooking show. The cooking show was a joy to watch, the audience being mostly couples also. Try the lychee martini. The server was sweet enough to make us this special honeymoon dessert!

Marie Marie. Gourmet Mexican fine dining and No. 2 of Happy Honeymoon plate.

Chef’s Plate. Here we had to book a table in advance as they only seat 16 guests. Chef’s Plate offers a fine dining 7-course set menu with a wine sommelier. A fun and intimate dining experience that gave us the chance to meet other couples too.

Pelicanos. Situated outdoors by the pool with a picture perfect sea-view, Pelicanos serves gourmet Caribbean seafood. For lunch, we had a scrumptious seafood casserole, ceviche, chicken wings, and fish tacos!  It was also nice to start the day here with a heartwarming breakfast - the morning breeze and crashing waves always adds a little something!

Tapas and Pintxos. Our favourite among 7, it’s all tapas, tapas, tapas! Excuse the lack of photos, we liked it so much we didn't bother.

Coffee House. For a daily dose of caffeine and a wide range of pastries and desserts, open from early morning to late evening. There's seating inside and outside where you can read a book, do some work (we hope you don't have to!), catch up on news, or simply watch people passing by while having tea and a slice of cake.

Aside from the restaurants, the breakfasts were also amazing. Room service brought us eggs, mushrooms, and bacon every single morning! Listing everything we ordered is a bit embarrassing, but let’s just say we ticked-off all the food groups. Breakfasts are also available at Pelicanos!

The variety of cuisines at Hyatt Zilara means you’ll never have to leave the hotel and worry about where to eat. Food and service were both exceptional. I’d say that’s a pretty good deal!

Next on our Cancun Series, we’ll share with you Hyatt Zilara’s bars and lounges - where soaking up under the sun with a glass of strawberry daiquiri is a great idea.
